Kat Wilson

Kat Wilson is a Northwest Arkansas-based artist. She received her MFA from the UARK’s School of Art and is the co-founder of Bottle Rocket gallery. Wilson’s work has been exhibited, performed, and published both regionally and internationally in venues such as the Louvre, the Los Angeles Times, 21C Bentonville, Crystal Bridges, and the Washington Post. Wilson’s “Habitats” series (2004) of digital photographs explore her subjects’ lives and personalities through their everyday environment. “Employing centuries-old compositional devices,” as she puts it, Wilson aims for “theatrically conceived portraits [that] transcend the quotidian familiarity of personal belongings and spaces, casting [my] subjects as both intimately vulnerable and heroic.”
