Velvet McNeil is an award-winning photojournalist who has photographed everything from the aftermath of the 9/11 terrorist attacks to community street fairs. She worked as a staff photographer for The Detroit News and her photographs have also appeared in national publications. She holds an MFA in Photography from Savannah College of Art and Design, as well as an undergraduate degree in Studio Art and Secondary Art Education at Marymount College. She currently teaches communications courses at Jefferson University in Philadelphia.
