Melissa Smith

Melissa Smith has served as Conservatory Director and Head of Acting in the American Conservatory Theater’s (A.C.T.’s) MFA Program since 1995. She has taught acting to students of all ages around the U.S. and in Florence, Italy. She is featured in “Acting Teachers of America: A Vital Tradition.” As a professional actor, she has performed off-Broadway in New York, regionally in the U.S., and in England. Smith appears in the film “Nomadland”  (2020), produced by and starring Frances McDormand.
