Larry Gallagher

Larry Gallagher has been writing professionally on and off since the late 1980s, when he specialized in immersive journalism and found himself doing commercial fishing in Alaska, slaughtering cattle in Nebraska, smoking toad venom in New Mexico, and flipping burgers for McDonald’s in San Francisco. He has described his adventures in such publications as Details, Outside, and The New York Times Magazine. The achievement he is most proud of is the recording of five CDs of original songs, which can still be tracked down via his website. In 2017, he followed a woman to Sligo, in the west of Ireland, and at last check he was still living there.
