Peggy Townsend
Peggy Townsend is an award-winning journalist and author. As a longtime reporter for the daily Santa Cruz Sentinel, she covered everything from the lives of homeless teenagers to the inequalities of healthcare. Her work received two “Best Writing” awards from the California Newspaper Publishers Association and multiple “Best Feature” awards from the Associated Press News Executives Council and the California Newspaper Publishers Association. She was also a 2005-06 racial justice fellow at the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism. Look for her latest novel, “The Beautiful and the Wild” (Berkley Books, 2023).
