Melanie Eversley

Melanie Eversley is a New York City-based journalist who has covered race, politics, features, and breaking news. While on staff at USA Today, she reported on national stories including the 2016 U.S. presidential election and the Boston Marathon bombing of 2013. As Washington correspondent for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, she trailed late Congressman and civil rights icon John Lewis through a number of places ranging from Selma, Alabama to the U.S. Capitol. Eversley also covered Washington for the Detroit Free Press. She has written for BET.com, NBC News online, and The Crisis and Essence, and is creator of the news organization Beyond the Railroad. Eversley graduated from Columbia Journalism School and Oberlin College.
