Julia Scheeres
Julia Scheeres is a journalist, New York Times bestselling author, and teacher. Her memoir, “Jesus Land,” led to the closure of the abusive reform school she attended as a teen. Her second book, “A Thousand Lives,” was a deep dive into the horrors of the Jonestown massacre. Her third book, “Listen World!,” is a radical departure: a rollicking and inspirational biography of syndicated Hearst newspaper columnist Elsie Robinson. Scheeres teaches at Stanford Continuing Studies, and, with her teen daughters, launched Sustainabar, which makes zero-waste beauty and cleaning products.
