Kristin Ohlson

Kristin Ohlson writes on topics ranging from proton decay to the pleasures of getting lost in Afghanistan. She has been published in The New York Times, Salon, Smithsonian, Discover, New Scientist, Gourmet, Oprah, and other print and online publications. Her magazine work has been anthologized in Salon’s “Life As We Know It,” “Best American Travel Writing 2008,” and “Best American Science Writing 2011.” Ohlson is the author of “The Soil Will Save Us: How Scientists, Farmers and Foodies are Healing the Soil to Save the Planet,” (Rodale, 2014), which is a finalist for the Oregon Book Award. Kristin is also the author of the memoir “Stalking the Divine,” which won the American Society of Journalists and Authors Best Nonfiction Book Award in 2004, and co-author of the 2007 New York Times bestselling book, “Kabul Beauty School.”
